For those people who are inexperienced, Bareboat rent does not mean a group of naked ones who sail onboard together! "Bareboating" means renting a boat that you can sail yourself.
When renting a car, you ought to show a valid driving license. However, you have to show an acceptable groups of skills and experiences to be allowed to sail the boat while you do not need a license or certificate to rent bareboats worldwide. If you don't, you may need a captain to help you. In some regions including European countries, should have a sailing license to rent.
Most bareboats are from 30 to 50ft (10 to 15m) in length, so you can rent a common Monohull, Catarnaran or a Powerboat. Sailing boats are more popular and typical than powerboats.
Bareboats are equipped with necessary things to be operated such as kitchen utensils to towels, sheets and bedding. Almost all bareboat enterprises offer you a dinghy and some offer you an outboard machine free of charge; but some offer it as an optinal extra. Several bareboats have generators, air conditioners, microwave ovens and TVs. Extra gadgets such as kayaks. windsurfers (if not rented separately) or outboards powerful enough to pull a water-skier. Such entertainment tools are only found on crewed boats or in some case as paid extras.
Unless you have rented before, you will probably want to consider contacting a rent agent to help you choose a suitable enterprise. The suggestions and experiences of a good agent will be helpful to you as they can help you by providing information (charts and pilot books, for example) on the region you want to sail in and can support you if trouble appears.
When renting a boat for holiday, we would like to strongly recommend that you work with a famous bareboat enterprise rather than a strange person. Dealing with a stranger that you have never known before and renting a boat you have never seen will be a risky thing, especially when they require you to pay in advance.
